When I started being library director twenty years ago the library was a completely different place than it is now. My job is completely different than it was then also. I read some of the blogs and agree with some of the other people that love books and hate to see the passion for books go away. It is hard to imagine what libraries, if they still exsist will be like in another twenty years. I do think that children up to the age of young adults have lost the love of reading for just the sake of reading. So many students come to get books just to satisfy a requirement for a class or accellerated reader points. When I was young we lived on a farm and Saturday was the best day of the week because that was the day we got to go to the public library and get new books. Maybe today there are too many distractions with video games and the internet.
I had trouble adding a contact in Slideshare but I think I was making harder than it is. I can see how it is helpful to have all that information readily available. Why make a new presentation when one is already available. http://www.slideshare.net/jalee1956

I have a Delicious account that I set up when I took a class in Kearney with Michael. It is a good way to find all the websites that I am somewhat interested in when I first see them and probably wouldn't be able to find them again. It also works better than favorites because then they can be accessed anywhere. As far as the tags, I think some tags should be fairly specific or there is the possibility of finding thousands of listings for each tag
